The Story Behind CMV
The history of CMV is an inspirational success story. After several years of working for established grading companies, Pat Barnes embarked on a new path and started a tree maintenance company. The allure of this new company was low startup cost and a clear path to reward—hard work and long hours. After 9 years growing and prospering as a tree company, Pat, along with his wife, Beth, began to piece-mill the foundation of a grading company with the purchase of a track loader in 1995. Job by job, Pat expanded his reputation as somebody that would follow through on projects and provide guidance to clients for saving time and money. They grew their grading business organically—only purchasing equipment and hiring people after identifying long term clients and work load.
In 2008, they expanded their service offerings to become a full service site development company to address the increasing number of requests to bid projects that require an unlimited license and to pursue different types of work with a long range vision of CMV doing self-development destination projects. Today, CMV employs approximately 20 full-time employees and operates approximately 30 pieces of iron. CMV is also a minority owned company.
